adoption of children who have special needs, to decrease the time
children wait in foster care for permanent families, and to expand
the geographical boundaries in which the best adoptive families may
be found. |

Kira currently lives in a separate foster home from her brothers, but they live close by and spend time together regularly. They are hoping for an adoptive family soon so they can all be together. Adoption is affordable –
Raising children in this society can be costly. That's why federal and
state programs provide monthly adoption subsidies in many cases. Health
insurance through Medicaid or purchase of services may also be available
until a child becomes an adult. Federal tax incentives and one-time adoption
cost reimbursements further support those who open their hearts to waiting
children. Check with the child's social worker for information.
Home Study Information
- If you are planning on adopting, you must first have a Home Study completed.
We have compiled some information to explain what a Home Study is and
how to get one completed.
