SNAPS, Inc.

OUR MISSION: To promote the adoption of children who have special needs, to decrease the time children wait in foster care for permanent families, and to expand the geographical boundaries in which the best adoptive families may be found.

Larry, Kira & Keno

Larry, Kira, and Keno are bonded siblings looking for an energetic family to keep them together. Kira and Keno, who are standing in this portrait, are fraternal twins who share a strong bond together, as well as with their older brother Larry (sitting). Kira currently lives in a separate foster home from her brothers, but they live close by and spend time together regularly. They are hoping for an adoptive family soon so they can all be together.

Great News!

The best part of our job at SNAPS Inc. is hearing that a family has been selected for a pre-adoptive placement. This happens several weeks after a child’s portrait and personality sketch are removed from our active listing pages.

The most exciting news of all is the finalization of an adoption several months later. We will share both of these events with visitors to our website, whenever possible. Just click on Family News in the menu to your left to find these updates.

Become a Mentor for a Youth in Foster Care!

Many children who are waiting to be adopted need some extra support from a caring adult in their lives. Some of these kids will go on into a permanent adoptive family, some will age out of the foster care system without a family, and some will be reunited with birth family. No matter what the future holds for a foster child, he or she needs someone who can support them now, while they wait. And that someone can be you! Click here to learn more.

Information about Adoption, Foster Care, and
Wednesday's Child Activities

Adoption is affordable – Raising children in this society can be costly. That's why federal and state programs provide monthly adoption subsidies in many cases. Health insurance through Medicaid or purchase of services may also be available until a child becomes an adult. Federal tax incentives and one-time adoption cost reimbursements further support those who open their hearts to waiting children. Check with the child's social worker for information.

Home Study Information - If you are planning on adopting, you must first have a Home Study completed. We have compiled some information to explain what a Home Study is and how to get one completed.

También para cualquier otra pregunta o información acerca de cualquier niño, puede llamar al Idaho CareLine marcando 2-1-1 dentro del estado o el 1-800-926-2588 fuera del estado. Ellos tienen representantes que hablan en Español.

Please note: Photographs and profiles of waiting children are very effective in helping them find loving families. As you get to know the children on these web pages, please remember that they live in our communities. They may attend school or church with someone you know. We ask for your help in guarding their privacy. Thank you.
